Clinical Experience

I conduct psychological testing, evaluation, and assessment for a variety of purposes, especially personal injury cases on a lien-basis in addition to providing cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to clients via telehealth. I work adults who have experienced psychological and physical trauma. I also provide forensic and psychological consultation on mental health issues, psychology-related concerns, and the complex intersections of psychology and the legal/justice system (psycho-legal) to attorneys and their clients.

I provide individual therapy and case management services to adult inmates housed at Adelanto Detention Facility. As Mental Health Coordinator, I wrote reports and conducted quality control and compliance checks to ensure that the department adhered to established standards and regulations in regard to inmate mental health care.

Under the supervision of Drs. Rosalva Martinez and Cynthia Canul, I conducted individual therapy, crisis intervention, and case management to children, adolescents, and adults with trauma as a result of entering the foster care/dependency system. I was responsible for writing reports, treatment plans, and Structured Analysis Family Evaluations (SAFE). I also taught psychoeducational classes, engaged in community outreach, and coordinated with other agencies to ensure that clients of the agency received the resources and support they needed.

Under the supervision of Dr. Farouz Farzan, I conducted clinical interviews and psychological assessments for the purposes of writing clinical evaluation reports for adults referred to the Neurobehavioral Testing Unit. Referrals were primarily made for intelligence, personality, neurobehavioral, and vocational testing purposes.

Under the supervision of Dr. Robert Myers, I provided individual, group, and family therapy to adolescent and adult participants of the partial hospitalization program. When needed, I engaged in crisis intervention for clients. I also conducted clinical interviews and administered, scored, and interpreted psychological assessments for the purpose of writing clinical evaluation reports.

Under the supervision of Dr. George Tucker, I conducted prospective adoption evaluations and court-ordered psychological assessments for foster care dependents. I made recommendations to the court and Social Services regarding developmental delays, placement and adoption concerns, behaviors issues, trauma indicators, and medical and mental health problems that might impede or disrupt adoptions. I also interviewed collateral contacts to assess intellectual abilities, developmental achievements, personality traits, and psychosocial functioning in response to inquiries about placement failures, academic problems, interpersonal and social difficulties, emotional and behavioral dysregulation, mental and medical health factors.

Under the supervision of Dr. Clive Kennedy, I conducted individual and group therapy for adult men recently released from the California Penal System. I also provided crisis intervention and case management, and coordinated treatment planning.

Under the supervision of Tamrin Olden, I assisted with community outreach programs and conducted data analysis and entry to assist law enforcement with tracking various programs.
